This series captures isolated parts of the female form, prompting viewers to consider cultural and psychological implications of seeing women as collections of body parts. El-Moussa's work contrasts intimacy with abstraction and in Parts of Her the underlying theme explores objectification in everyday perception. By deconstructing her own body into detailed fragments, El-Moussa reclaims the narrative, exposing parts subjected to societal scrutiny. The zoomed-in perspectives reveal textures and nuances, dissolving form into abstraction and prompting discussions on identity, voyeurism, and self-dissolution. “The Closer you look, the less you see.”
